We Are All Brothers And Sisters

Filming the Rwanda podcast was special for all of us on so many levels. First, we got to meet and get to know our new friend, Marie Claudine (a true blessing). Second, we learned so much about the country and culture of Rwanda and finally (and perhaps most importantly), we experienced the profound understanding that we are all one in Christ. . . truly, we are all brothers and sisters in the one Lord. We may live across the ocean from one another, we may not speak the same language or eat the same foods, but when we get down on our knees before our Creator, we are all the same in that we are all His children. . . each one of us is His beloved child. We all cry out to Him, "Lord, give us this day our daily bread" and "forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." How is it, then, we get so lost? How is it that we forget this and judge one another on so many levels? I guess it's our human nature, but with our Lord's help, we can overcome this, we can begin to love as Jesus would have us love.

Oh how I hope this little podcast encourages little ones (and big ones!) to see all God's people with the eyes and heart of love. I hope it reminds all of us that when you come right down to it, we are all very much the same deep within. And the differences? Well, that is what makes life so interesting! So, we may not give each other a cow to demonstrate friendship as they do in Rwanda, but at the end of the day, in the quiet of the night, we are all saying the same words. . . "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name."

Peace!
