God, Father, Lord, Abba, Holy One, King of Kings, Yahweh, I AM. . .
Who do you say He is? Who is the Holy One, the Creator to you?
Comforter, Shepherd, Adonai, Jehovah, Emmanuel, Judge, Almighty, the Alpha and the Omega. . .
We have so many names given to us by our heavenly Father. Each name gives depth and meaning to who He is, and who He wants to be for each of us.
Savior, Jesus, Y'Shua, El Shaddai, Mighty One, Theos. . .
I guess our good Lord wants us to know Him. . . really, really know Him. So, we call Him: Savior, when we are drowning; Healer, when we are sick; Comforter, when we are hurting; Abba, when we are lonely; Shepherd when we need guiding; Merciful One, when we need forgiveness and so on.
Our children need to know this. They need to know who God is for them TODAY. They need to know Him as friend, as guiding light, as healer, as Father and as brother. Howard and AJ call Him their "Night Light" when they are confronted with night time darkness and fear. . . and in an upcoming episode, the boys will again give our good Lord a nick name. . . They will call Him, their "Lifeguard."
May our good Lord be for you today, whoever and whatever it is you find yourself needing.
