We've been working on a new episode with Howard and Gladys called, "I'm Gonna Follow You, Lord." We had great fun puppeteering the episode, as well as working on the song that follows the episode.
But with Lent so quickly approaching, I began thinking about what a truly difficult and challenging call this is. If I'm really willing to say, "I'm gonna follow you, Lord," then that means I am willing to follow anywhere He leads. I only have to look at His own life, the life of His earthly mother and father and the lives of His faithful followers to know that this may mean I will (at some time in my life) be required to follow Him down some difficult and thorny roads! Am I still willing to say, "I'm Gonna Follow You Lord?" My flesh screams...."No...get me out of here...heal me....change me....change this...carry this....etc." But if I am going to be a child of God, then I must accept faithfully what He sends or what He allows. Lent is approaching....Calvary calls, but so too, does the beautiful, magnificent, glorious resurrection.
"Yes, Lord..."I'm Gonna Follow You." Only give me the strength and courage to do what it is you are calling me to do...whatever and wherever that may be. Amen"
